From the Earth

This mural is inspired by the site’s history as a cigar box factory while celebrating themes of growth and community. At its center, a hand gently cradles a bouquet—symbolizing the collective strength that comes from access to nature. The bouquet’s roots extend visibly, anchoring the imagery to the place and reflecting the deep connections within the community. Woven among the flowers are tobacco leaves, a nod to the building’s past and its role in shaping the neighborhood’s story.
