Meet DRIFT.

Co-Founding members, Anaϊs Labrèque and Dominic Laporte, are continually striving to implement public art projects, as a tool to build a more inclusive and prosperous future.

Dominic is an award winning mural artist who’s prolific career boasts over 120 mural projects; his portfolio includes large-scale commissions for prestigious institutions such as Canada's Museum of Science & Technology, Canadian Heritage, Street Art Toronto, STEPS Public Art, and Microsoft among others. He has also been a featured artist at various mural festivals worldwide, such as Noisy Waters Mural Festival and PLNTNG Seeds in the United States, Sibiu International Street Art Festival in Romania, and numerous Canadian mural festivals. His artistic evolution is a testament to his dedication to engaging with audiences beyond traditional gallery spaces, using murals as a medium to bridge diverse perspectives. Dom’s blending of traditional painting techniques with innovative mixed-media approaches reflects a profound connection to the natural world, exploring themes of interdependence and mutual respect among species. Through his art, he invites viewers to contemplate their role within the intricate web of life.

Anaϊs Labrèque, co-founder of DRIFT Mural Co., is the bilingual (FR/ENG) project manager for large-scale mural projects. She has been consulting on mural initiatives behind the scenes with Dominic for close to 8 years. Anaïs brings a fresh perspective to their collaborative efforts, drawing from her passion for research, documentation, and her travel experiences to help shape narratives that resonate deeply with the communities they serve. As the backbone of the team, she seamlessly handles the often-overlooked logistics that keep large public art projects running smoothly — from the early stages until Dom’s on-site execution. In addition to her role at DRIFT, Anaïs is also a freelance grant and proposal writer. If you're ever in need of support with funding applications or public art submissions, feel free to reach out — she'd be happy to help.

Together, with their shared passion for community-based and accessible art forms, they strive to implement a variety of mural projects in communities around the world, celebrating each one's unique identity through the power of public art.

  • Dom has built a strong reputation through countless live painting performances, showcasing his talent at galas, events, festivals, and competitive paint battles. He was a finalist in the prestigious 2018 National Art Battle in Toronto.

  • We’re excited to announce the '“Denise Landriault  - Young Artist Award” grant we will be offering through the Ottawa Arts Council in 2025.

To honor Dom’s mother, Denise Landriault's legacy and inspire future generations of artists, this grant is awarded to a young artist who, like Denise, demonstrates a deep passion for storytelling through art, using creativity, technique and intuition to reflect the beauty of the world around them. This grant celebrates the memory of Denise, whose vibrant and imaginative work captivated audiences with expertly crafted artwork in a variety of mixed media.

    Stay tuned for more information.

  • We are delighted to mentor emerging muralists upon request. Our support can range from answering questions and sharing mentorship resources to providing hands-on guidance at a mural site. If you’re interested in mentorship opportunities, please reach out to us at info@driftmurals.com.

  • We’re excited to announce a week-long artist residency in Mont-Tremblant, Quebec, coming in fall 2025! We’re hard at work planning this unique opportunity, so stay tuned for more details and application information.
