John Howard Society of Ottawa Residence
We had the pleasure of adding a large indoor mural at the entrance of the community housing of JHS, supporting chronically homeless men in Ottawa. The theme of the piece relates to the values of the JHS, which we interpreted by using various nature based imagery, with additions of fabric and the fingerprint as a design motif symbolizing identity. We also added to the community housing hallways, picturing different types of butterflies on flowers and loose fingerprint forms, representing metamorphosis, identity and movement. We hope to bring both a sense of belonging and of freedom to the residents.
